At Rizing Starz Presents, we are dedicated to reshaping the music industry by providing a unique and sound platform for emerging artists to shine. We focus on several genres of music such as R&B, smooth jazz, blues, funk, pop and standards. This allows us the competence to work with many vocalist and instrumentalists who are truly dedicated to their musical abilities.
Through strategic observation and a careful selection process, we seek to align Rizing Starz Presents with gifted and proficient artists who are dedicated to provide mesmerizing performances each time. Kimberly Baker, Founder and Managing Director
Kim Baker began her musical journey at the age of ten playing flute and singing. She later learned how to play several instruments including piccolo, oboe, and alto sax. Kim’s musical abilities allowed her to become a graduate, within the top ten percent of her class, of Newark, New Jersey’s Arts High School. Arts High is the very first performing-arts high school in the US. Some of the alumni include musical greats such as Sarah Vaughn, Melba Moore, Wayne Shorter and many others.
Since moving to Richmond, Virginia she has continued to thrive within the musical arena. Kim is the founder and Managing Director of Rizing Starz Presents, LLC. In addition, she has managed several local bands and artists. She is very passionate about promoting and developing local talent. She also believes that God has given her the ability to create opportunities for artists to be able to perform, even when there are not enough gigs for hungry musicians. Kim has worked with many gifted musicians who have often performed in the shows she has developed such as “The Women of Richmond Who Rock” and most recently “Night Traxx”.
